Golden Shopping (goldenshopping-uk.com) is operated by EcomTerra LLC, EIN 37-2159331, 8206 Louisiana Blvd NE, Ste A #4912, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87113, United States. EcomTerra LLC is the controller of personal information collected through this website. For any privacy question or request, email support@goldenshopping-uk.com.
Because we sell to people in the United Kingdom, we handle your personal information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
When you place an order
- Your name, email address, delivery address and, if you give it, your phone number
- What you ordered, the price paid and the delivery option chosen
- Payment confirmation from our payment provider. Your card details are entered with and processed by the payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.
When you email us
Your name, email address, and whatever you include in your message, such as an order number or photos of a faulty item. Our contact form doesn't send anything to us by itself; it opens an email in your own mail app, which you then choose to send.
When you browse
Your bag is saved in your own browser's local storage so it's still there when you come back. It isn't sent to us until you check out. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To process and deliver your order, handle returns and refunds, and answer your questions. Lawful basis: performance of a contract with you.
- To keep records for tax and accounting. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
- To prevent fraud and keep the website secure. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in protecting our business and customers.
We don't send marketing emails unless you've asked to receive them, and we don't sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share only what's needed with:
- our payment provider, to take payment and prevent fraud
- delivery couriers, to deliver your parcel (name, address, and phone number if given)
- our website hosting and email providers, who store data on our behalf
- Google, whose font service receives your IP address when our typefaces load in your browser
- professional advisers and authorities where the law requires it
Each of these acts under contract or their own legal obligations and may only use your information for the purpose we share it.
International transfers
EcomTerra LLC is based in the United States, so your information is processed there and by providers who may be located outside the UK. Where information leaves the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or safeguards approved under UK law, such as the International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: six years from the end of the financial year of the order, for tax purposes
- Customer service emails: up to two years after we last hear from you
- Server logs: up to 90 days
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Some rights have exceptions, for example we must keep order records for tax. To make a request, email support@goldenshopping-uk.com. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
